Seed sown in April this year are coming along nicely.Moss pots containing 4 Phal Sogo Yukidian seedlings have been made available to members to grow on.

Ray brings a few to each Meeting if anyone wants to try. Phal Sogo Yukidian produces abundant 5" blooms and was developed for Showing. Don Heys of the SW Orchid Society met up with Ray at the Devon Show , not to show plants but to pollinate them, with varying success , some were successful, some were not ...but that's part of the challenge.

At the Duchy Nursery Event we saw some exchanges of species plants between Francis of Phalaenopsis and More and Ray...proof that growing species plants can be worthwhile with more ' Swaps ' planned for next year. Seedpods developing of Phal Violacea coerulea and Phal bellina for sowing next Spring with any excess exchanged with Don and Lynda Coles of the Welsh Orchid Study Group. It would be interesting to know what species plants we have within the Society with , perhaps, an aim to pollinate and make seedlings available to others ..a big plus for Cornwall Orchid Society members ...and Club funds !
